The Popes dead and I guess the Catholic Church has no earthly leader at the time of publication? People all over the world no doubt are praising Pope Francis. Good luck to him and all. I was here in Chile when he visited. Everyone had high hopes with this one after Pope Benedict failed to address ongoing sexual scandals here.

Pope Francis failed miserably. He got visibly angry when asked about specific pedos in Chile. His initial impulse was to defend the pedo-priests. He insulted the entire country from what I gathered at the time. People were pissed the fek off for real. "What job was he hired to do?" was the general sentiment.

After he fled basically, he claimed to have been ignorant of reality or something. People were back in the streets over it. Then it never got mentioned again. The next Papa will think twice before visiting Chile.

Instead mourning a guy who is possibly with 72 twelve year old boys right now, let's all take a moment to remember Pope Pius XI. He was the Pope during the last rise of facism in the 20th century. I'm afraid the history books will also recall Pope Francis as "found wanting.
