Front Row Center

by William Schroeder

My eyes, a captive audience,

Gaze upon the stage of your face,

Where the footlights of a smile

Throw brilliant beams of beauty

Onto the floorboards of space.

The dark curtain of your hair

Parts to frame a perfect view.

The entrance fee, my heart,

Gladly paid to enter

The theater of you.
