Prove Me a Dream

by Darren Smart

I sleep for all good intention,

Letting those dreams of dreams of dreams

Wash over my insignificant mind.

I see those children and animals playing,

Playing in that blue grass:

The grass under green skies and diluted

Visions.

I think that I may/shall stay awake

Try to keep my reality of real things of real

Life from taking this insignificant mind.

I see those children and animals playing,

Playing in that green grass:

The grass under blue skies and reminiscent of

First impressions.

And I dream and I dream as worlds mix.

I see that real things with reality turn

Dreams of dreams of dreams

Before my eyes, and I wonder if those skies

Have color at all.
