Callous

by Gavin Connolly

Everything goes back around

Spite comes full circle

And spits you in the face

Awaiting a reaction.

Sometimes nothing is found

Instead you need a miracle

Never seem to be in the right place

a devestating relation

I was emotionally bound

Presence of an oracle

Deeply disagreeing in taste

testing my patience

And now I am left

With no more to search for

Nothing keeps me interested

It is tedious to the core

I'm probing, I'm prying,

Looking for anything to make this work.

I'll act like a supposed lover

You'd do anything to be another.

Find out if the life you left,

Held you back like this.

Discover why the life you kept,

Was'nt right like this. . .

Why? Why are we walking backwards?

There must be some confusion.

Wait. Please, stay here with me.

This pain must be an illusion.

What situation could be more puzzling?

What effort has gone unnoticed?

Everything goes back around

Spite comes full circle

And spits you in the face

Awaiting a reaction

All the answers are found

This life is terrible

Interests are mis-placed

now we are left disassociated.
