Some Doors Are Locked for a Reason

by Daniel Dalcanto

I moved into a new house, which was surprisingly cheap for how big it was. It had three rooms, perfect for me and my two kids, three and five years old. We are moving boxes into the house, then i come to the closet in my bedroom, it is huge! But i notice something strange about it. There is a door, with a rusted out handle on it, so i try to open it. It's locked, but has no keyhole. I just forget about it and keep packing. It is going to be our first night in the house. After all the moving, i am going to sleep well, or so i thought. When i lied down in my bed to start falling asleep, i started hearing thumping. I tried to block it out, but i couldnt , so i decide to investigate. I tracked the sound back to my closet, and opened the closet to see what could be making the noise, then i realize that it is coming from the other side of the door. I try to open it again, but still couldnt. I decide i will try to open it more tomorrow, and try to go to bed. Notice how i said tried. When i was trying to go to bed, the thumping just started getting louder and louder. I got my earplugs i have for when i go to concerts, and put them in. After putting the earplugs in, the sound didn't get quiter, in fact, it got louder. I get out of bed in the morning, after a sleepless night. I ask my four year old, whose room is right next to mine if he could hear anything, but he replies no. I thought i might just be imagining things because i'm so tired. Anyway, the day was normal, until it was time to go to bed. This night, instead of thumping coming from the other side of the door, i hear scratching on the door in the closet, and the same thing happened that happened last night, it just kept getting louder and louder. Another night of no sleep. In the morning, i get the kids breakfast, and decide to investigate the room. I grab a sledgehammer to break open the door in the closet. I walk into my room with the sledgehammer. I went into the closet, and as i was preparing to slam open the door with the sledgehammer, the door quickly slammed open, making me jump. Chills went all down my spine and all the hairs stood up on my arms. I go to get a flashlight to go into the pitch black room, i head up to the closet, turned the flashlight on, and walked into the room. But the second I walked into the room, the flashlight turned off. I try to turn it back on, but i couldnt. I walk out of the room, and the flashlight worked normally again. I kept it on for a minute to make sure it wouldn't shut off, and it didn't. So i walked back into the room, i went past the door, and the flashlight turned off again, confused, i walked out of the room, and it turned back on. Confused, i gave up, and closed the door. That night, there was no noise, but it felt like there was wind blowing in my room. I could have sworn I closed all the windows? I am getting freaked out at this point. I nervously walk over to check if the windows were closed, they were all open, i let out a sigh of relief, and closed all the windows. I lay back down in my bed, and strangely still felt wind. I thought that i might have forgotten to close a window, but then a thought came across my mind that made me even more scared, it isn't windy outside, so there should have never been any wind even with my windows open. I nervously lay back down in my bed, the wind still there. Suddenly, a few minutes later, i felt a huge burst of wind, and papers everywhere flew off of desks. And again i felt the same thing i felt when the door opened for the first time, chills up my spine, and all the hair on my arms stood up. But after that happened, the wind stopped. And it was silent, well, for a few minutes anyway. After a few minutes, i heard a screaming and crying that lasted for for just a few seconds. And then, i blacked out. I woke up at my normal time to my alarm, happy that i finally got sleep. I wake up, and look towards the door to the hallway. And i see my four year old child, just standing there, beside my bed, looking away from me. I ask him if he needs anything, and why he is here. But he doesn't respond, i get out of bed, and walk around him to see his face, and what i saw horrified me. My child was standing there, frozen in place, with no eyes. His eyes were gone. I scream and call the police. While i was waiting for the police to come, i remember my three year old son, i quickly run to his room, only to see he is not there. Sobbing harder now, i keep waiting for the cops. After a few minutes they get there and tell me that all children in the neighborhood under the age of ten, had gone missing, but none of them have had their eyes removed. The weird thing is, my childs eyes didn't look like they were pulled out, or even surgically removed, it was like they just vanished, like he never grew eyes, or anything that connects to them. The officers leave, and take my childs lifeless body for investigation. When they leave, i start feeling like something is controlling me. I have a strong urge to go to my room, and i can't stop it. It fells like something in me wants me to go into the room in the closet, like i have to, like it's my home, like it's the only place i can be safe. I walk into the room in my closet, and i don't see the normal darkness, i see... nothing... But maybe i could take someone else's eyes, and make some other people feel... how i feel... The misery of not being able to see... I am so miserable, i can't feel anything, the only way i can feel, is when something hits my head. I start hearing things being placed in the house, like, a new family moving in. Maybe, i can see soon.

Hope you enjoyed my first creepypasta. Any advice on what to improve is highly appreciated!
