The big elephant grabbed the soup
mostly alligator was at hand
but enjoyed mushroom and potato
so Elsie grabbed the soup cans
waving her American flag
wherever she went
proud, so proud to be free
and at home
she stirred the soup
so proud to eat a wonderful dish
now this was followed by peanut butter
sandwiches and a special wish
Elsie was a good girl
nothing could break her spirit
during the recession of 2007
she waved her flag in pride
