Cattle Fields of Manure

by Kevin Rottweiler

as I farm the land

I step foot deep into manure

the smell is disgusting

but animals

that we survive on

need to release their inners

to get rid of inner gizzards

and moldy cells that are bad

and they leave their methane gas

in the air

like a Sigmund heart attack

diagnosis of ugliness

and the cattle keep manuring

the smell is awful

on the side of the road

and the rain washes it clean

to start over again

walking in Sigmund's fields

of psychological torture

of manure

to start over again

the smell is awful

of a life gone wrong

no wonder the

cattle just keep

to themselves
