... The Crossroads of the Mind...

by Peter Hunter

the crossroads of the mind

midnight at the crossroads of the mind

noon - a high sun denying shade to evade the light

the river where jewelled filled zephyrs treat each bank side flower with an ephemeral caress

but we cannot go back

time's outstretched arm bars us from all but memory

how we travel those footpaths of the mind

to follow those streams and rivers hidden there

in some hope for desperation to find it once more

that treasure

at the crossroads of the mind
