PAINTED SUNSET (From my journal "OUTSIDE LOOKING IN")

mesmirized from where I stand,
I espy
the Pacific grand,
and witness the beauty
of the day's demise,
this painted canvas
in the skies.
glorious wonders
of Nature's views,
streaked in Mother's
awesome hues!
swatches of fiery, tempestuous reds,
marbled swirls of teal blue beds,
interfaced with soothing mauves,
tagging playful orangish sauves,
chasing pink, flirtatious swirls,
of timid-colored mustard twirls,
bits of gold and silver laces
midst dabs of somber gray oases.
witness, I, the death of day
in this open coliseum,
welcome twilight over bay
here in Nature's art museum.
