Old Glory

by Kim Langley

Old Glory as I look at you my eyes fill with tears

Seeing how this great nation has fallen in the past years

We've voted in a government that caters to our lust

While family Bibles lay on the shelf, covered with dust..

Old Glory can you hear the cries of destruction

Coming from a land filled with such corruption?

Do you hear the cries of the little souls aborted

While their mothers look on through eyes that are distorted..

Old Glory did you ever think that you would see the day

When our teenagers have guns with which to play

Drugs on every corner, hatred fills the land

It touches every person yet no one takes a stand..

Old Glory did you see what happened way back when

They kicked prayer out of school and let Satan enter in

The schoolhouse now has become infested with sin

Corrupting innocent souls as they enter in..

Old Glory the parents in these days have no time

To punish a child when he steps out of line

The court tells the parent to leave the child be

While Satan sits back, laughing with glee..

The family unit as a whole has been totally blown apart

While we sit and ponder and wonder 'when did this start?'

It started as a ripple then turned into a giant wave

Oh God, help us to climb out of this polluted grave..

Old Glory the Day of Judgement is now upon this land

A prayer needs to be spoken from the heart of every man

America, America, God shed his grace on thee

We need to repent, from sea to shining sea..
