Now I Lay Me

by Jacqueline M. Yohe

Now I Lay Me

Now I lay me down to sleep

I pray the Lord my shape to keep

But if it's gone before I wake

I pray the Lord for chocolate cake

While I'm praying Lord to you

Not just any cake will ever do

Double-layered and frosting too

Use lots of Hershey and some walnuts too

And if I die before I wake

I pray the Lord

My fat tummy to take.

It's best to die

With a prayer on your lips

And if you're dead

Why worry about hips?

Forgive my weakness

Lord I pray

Just give me sweets

For one more day!
