When the Kill Is Done

by Mick Beville

When the kill is done

We search for truth the old man said

But find ourselves the lie instead.

We search for peace at the point of a gun

Who pays the price when the kill is done

Mirror mirror on the wall

Who is the fairest of them all?

The sun comes up, the sun goes down

We stake our claim in the holy ground

We talk of love and practice greed

We plant our soil with a poison seed

Mirror mirror on the wall

Who is the fairest of them all?

Are we blessed or are we cursed

Should we rejoice or fear the worst

Or just don't ask for reasons why

The answer lies in the bye and bye

Mirror mirror on the wall

Who is the fairest of them all?
