The Sun Gives Me Life

by Ian Mackay

Preface

Mindful exploration of a sunny spring day in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Despite the many challenges of the times, the appreciation of the warmth and life giving rays of the sun reminds us of the beauty of nature and timelessness of life.

The sun gives me life,

It's penetrating warmth on a cool spring morning.

My flesh tingles in the warm spots,

Across my chest, along my legs,

Stinging in the shade, aching for a share in the heat.

The sun gives me life,

A reminder that this is the start of another day.

Like the billions before and the billions to come.
