The Fantasy

by NAYYAR SHABBIR AHMAD

Just say it

Say it

Even though we both know

You don't mean it

That you'll give up the world for me

Meaning, you'll abandon your wife and family

Marry me

We'll set up home together

I'll have your baby

Etc. Etc.

Most important of all

We'll stay in love with each other

And, we'll live happily ever after

O, what fantasy!

How nice it is to make-believe

Occasionally

My only consolation is

Things never turn out the way we wish
