John Pellowe

Born a couple of months before the start of WWll, I was brought up on a farm high in the Pennines in the north of England. Family background was one of near poverty. Father, Mother, three sisters and myself. Three of us pased the eleven plus exam for Grammar school. Most of my writing can be pigeon-holed under the description of \"Just William\"meets \"James Herriott\", although I have dabbled in science fiction and family saga books.

From 1955 until retirement in 2010 I worked as a printer (with the exception of two years of service in the RAF). My first job was as an apprentice compositor and then as a linotype operator on a local newspaper and later I owned my own business in the same trade until 1986 when I immigrated to Australia.
