Thanks for the warm welcome home - I'll have a stout if you please! Whole lot of different things going on, luckily more good than bad.
The goodest part is that I have found my birth mother - alive and well.
The most incrediblest part is that she had moved from my birth city to another country and had married there - she's since widowed. We were introduced by telephone about 5 months ago and we now speak on a weekly basis. Truth be told, Jen talks with her for several hours every week. I, being a man and having not the gift of gab, on the phone anyway, talk for about 15 minutes. Jen and I are planning to go to meet her in person in late September.
Any bad news rather pales by comparison.
Otherwise, I continue to serve the public and collect my bi-weekly pay packet. It brings tears to my eyes however, every time I go to the shops I get less for more. Nonetheless, could be worse.
Finally, the muse has been on an extended holiday. I receive postcards by the way of those really odd dreams that you have when you are just drifting off to sleep, but being able to flesh out most of these ideas has, as of yet, evaded me.
So what's new with you kids?
With my deepest and most sincere look of gratitude plastered on my one-tear-stained visage, I remain your most gratefully humble servant,
Steve
