The new website is now reaching a point where it needs testing by users other than myself to test for faults, functionality, and suggest features before the new site goes live.

A tester's job would be to sign up, submit stories (be them your own or not, it doesn' t matter at this point) and comments on what other works already there. Create fake articles and comments upon them also, testing profile and biography editor functionality, test the messaging system, and also provide feedback on said functions on ways of improving and adding new features to enhance your experience with us.

The new site's not due to go live for another couple of months yet, and a lot of the administrative functions have yet to be written. Majority of the user end has now been completed, however, and is in need of thorough testing before the old site gets taken offline, databases transferred, and the new site put in it's place.

We're after between 5-10 people to help us through this phase. If you think you're up to helping us thoroughly test our new community (forum included!), please contact either myself (dan@short-story.net) or Marc (marc@short-story.net) expressing an interest. We will then contact you with details of what to do to sign up a username and begin testing.

I should also mention at this point that the database for the new site will be cleared before it goes live, obviously. By signing up you agree to be a part of our testing mailing list where all testers involved will be added to aid discussion over the new site. No other users will be added to the list, and the list will remain active for a month after the new site goes live.

Any questions? Email myself or Marc on the above emails.

Thank you for your time Grin

Thanks so much for all the replies to far!

We need as many testers as we can get, so the new site is working perfectly (and exactly as YOU want it to) when we launch it. Smiley

Sorry I haven't offered my services for testing. I'm not being ignorant, just playing safe because I'm not very technical so I wouldn't be any good.  :-/:P

Hi, I'm not sure if this is too late but I had sent Dan a mail expressing my interest in joining the testing team for the new site. I received a reply saying I will be notified further details but have not received any mail yet.
If you are still looking for people, I'd like to join. But I must say my internet speed isnt too good here.
Thanks

AN;
I find it most bizarre that I've sent you confirmation of joining our team, but you've not received anything from the list. Could you email me once again, just anything, so I have your email address, and I can check whether I did in fact add you to the list. I'll then forward you such information you need to know about the new website.
