I need some help and suggestions

I have always loved writing. When I first started high school it was my biggest passion and I loved to write out stories about the things that I was interested in like Inuyasha, and all of that and put them on fanfiction.
Well recently I have been reading other peoples stories and it has got me to want to start writing again!
I want to do a twilight theme (cheesy I know, but hey the stories aren't like the movies or books at all).
I've been thinking one where Bella and Edward are best friends. I want to put in that Bella is trying to get Edwards attention and Edward isn't catching the hints or anything, etc.
Something kind of real life, but also I want Bella to be talented in singing. I don't know.
I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how I could start the story? Or what it could go as? Story line, or anything. It would be so much help!!!

FF is okay but most of the time people are too caught up in what's already written and the way the characters are already perceived so they can't get into the fan-faction stories. Have you tried making up your own characters? It seems hard at first but if you have the outline of a story and the basics you want your characters to have then it's really just like uncovering things that already seem to be there, it's like getting to know someone in real life! =P Original and unique is so much more interesting to read. Look forward to reading your stories, which ever you decide to write! =)
